As part of the clinic's continued support of the local community, we have been campaigning for revival of the historic Droitwich Spa Brine Bath. We, of course, realise that this will require investment.
It is common knowledge that the Brine Pool, with its unique chemical composition, is second to none in the world bar the Dead Sea. For 20 years, Droitwich Knee Clinic physiotherapists have been taking their patients into the Brine Pool during the rehabilitation phases after sports injury as well as surgery up to and including knee replacements. This not only expedited their recovery but was a very enjoyable experience.
The Droitwich Knee Clinic has, of course, enjoyed a unique position over the years across the country and, indeed, overseas. Approximately 40% of Droitwich Knee Clinic referrals are from outside our catchment area and we used to have patients driving several hours up to Droitwich for their hydrotherapy in the Brine Pool. We feel that, in recent years, the Brine Pool has been under utilised and not sufficiently marketed on a national scale and has therefore not seen its true potential. The Droitwich Knee Clinic is in contact with more than one group of investors and has the support of Wychavon District Council, the Save Our Brine Baths (SOBB) group, a number of local politicians, BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital and a large number of its patient following. We have also made contact with internationally recognised authorities on setting up spa experiences all over the world. We are very enthusiastic about supporting the revival of the pool on a truly grand scale befitting of its heritage. We hope our efforts will bear fruit so watch this space!
